Send or Share Recipe Copy to Another User Outside of Your Pie Organization

In some cases you may need to send a copy of your recipe to another person outside of your Pie Organization. If you're wanting to send it to someone within your own Pie Organization, it's better to make a duplicate of the recipe with a slightly different name and if needed, re-assign it to a different workspace. This article is about sending it to someone that's in a different Pie Organization, outside of your Pie account.

When to use this feature

Let's say you created a super sweet recipe and you want to share it with someone else that either has their own Pie account or haven't signed up yet. You will use this feature to send them a copy. When they log in and go to the Recipe List page, they will see it there. They will then click on it and assign it to a workspace.

How to send a recipe

1. The sender needs to be either the Organization Admin if the recipe lives under an organization workspace, or the sender needs to be the Workspace Admin if the recipe lives under a free workspace section.
2. Open the recipe to the Recipe Configuration page by clicking the pencil icon to the right of the recipe name on the recipe list page or if you have the recipe open, click the pencil icon in the upper right of the page.
3. In the action button menu, click the list button to the right of the trash can that looks like a dot dot dot (...). Click the option "Send copy of recipe to external user..."
4. Enter the recipient's email and hit enter
5. If Pie finds that person is already a Pie account user, their first and last name will auto fill in. If the user is not found, then you will need to enter the new person't first and last name and then click Add.
6. Name the recipe. Pie auto names it the same, but you can rename it. Then click the green send recipe button.
7. Once sent, you will see the sent info in a new History section below for reference purpose.
8. Pie will not only send the recipe to the other person's Pie account, but will also send them an email notice saying they were sent a recipe and to log in to see it. If the receiver is not yet a Pie member, they will first receive a join Pie invite email. Then they will receive a second email notifying them about the new recipe you sent.
9. When the other user logs in and goes to their recipe list page, they will see the recipe you sent. 
10. When that other user clicks the recipe to open it, they will first be prompted to assign it to a workspace. Once they assign it, they can open and use the recipe.
