Our Pie posts feature gives you the ability to use "@[person's name]" to mention this person in a message, issue, or idea post. If you're a Slack user, you should be familiar with this handy feature.
The purpose is to mention a project or recipe team member in the post and Pie will notify that person.
NOTE: You will not be able send an @mention to an invited user who hasn't yet signed up for their account. Their name will not show up in the @mention dropdown list.
How to use @mention
- Create a post or reply to an existing post.
- In the description field, type "@" and this will bring up a list of project team members. Select the name of the person you want to mention either by clicking the name in the dropdown or completing by typing that person's name.
- Once an @[person's name] is displayed, you can continue to finish your post or reply as normal.
What happens when I use @mention?
- Pie will automatically send an email to the mention person
- This post will show up as an unread post in their POSTS page with the purple unread indicator.
Why are @mention showing up automatically?
There are some cases where Pie will auto fill in an @mention. However, the user can simply remove it if they prefer not to have it there in their post. Here is when Pie automatically sets up an @mention in a new post.
- When an issue or risk post is created, Pie will insert a mention for the Project Admin.
- When an idea is created, Pie will insert a mention for the Project Admin.
- When an idea is created in a project that is using a recipe,Pie will insert a mention for the Recipe Admin in addition to the Project Admin.
