The Reports Data Download feature is very powerful since it can provide you with many possibilities for custom reporting. As a refresher, visit the Data Download help page.
NOTE: The Data Download feature is for projects under an organization on a Pro or Enterprise Plan.
This article will give you an example on how to create an Excel report for the following questions:
How can I get a list of all tasks that my team members are working on this week in one view?
And, how can I create a macro to save time for next week?
How-to Video:
Steps:
- Navigate to the Reports page from the left menu panel.
- Click on the Data Download page tab.
- Click the Assignment Data Excel Download button and open the page in Excel.
- Go to the Data page tab so you can sort and filter.
- Click the "Task date due" cell (cell P1) at the top of that column and click sort A to Z. That will sort the entire list by due date from past to future.
- Click the Filter button and you will see each column heading now has a dropdown filter.
- In the "Member Name" column row 1, click the dropdown and then you can select which employee to view.
- You may want to delete the columns that are not useful and format the page to look friendlier.
- Watch the above video to learn how to turn the sheet into a macro for auto formatting for your next download.
