Options on sharing reports to non-Pie users
- Give them Pie licenses. Give stakeholders access to Pie, and if needed, you can limit their visibility and permissions. Executives may complain "they don't want to learn another tool" because they are busy. The question is how much value can they contribute to your projects? How much value do your projects contribute to them? If the value is there, then they could log into Pie faster than they can say "Facebook". To make it easy for them, you could set up their Pie bookmark to land on the Dashboard page. The advantage is they can interact with real-time data and help support your projects. Well, if the value is not there for them, then you have either the wrong sponsors or they have the wrong projects.
Ok, for the truly valuable, but lazy executives, here are a few more options. :) - You can print the Report Dashboard Table view to PDF and then email it off to the stakeholders. To do this, go to the Dashboard Table page and to the right of the Portfolio Summary label you will see the three-dot kabab icon. Click on this and select Print to PDF.
- For all other visuals you can easily do screenshots and paste them into PowerPoint, Word, or Keynote and then convert those into PDFs for easy emailing. Most of our customers like this approach since you can pick and choose exactly what visuals to share and it's quick and easy to do.
- To get fancy, you can download project portfolio data from the Data Download page as a CSV or Excel data file and turn it into an Excel Pivot table or diagrams. If you have a BI tool like MS PowerBi or Tableau, you can import the CSV into one of these tools and build all kinds of visuals. Once you have it set up in those tools, then you can save the report template and just update it whenever you need with fresh data.
