When a team member is assigned to a task, the project task show that person's assignment icons with their first and last name initials.
What happens when two or more team members have the same exact initials?
Pie added a feature that will automatically color code the person's icon when there are one or more other team members with the same initials.
For example, in the following image there are two people with the initials "CB" in the same workspace. To help you distinguish them apart, Pie automatically senses there are more than one and then randomly gives them a color (such as green, blue, etc) so you can see who is who without having to hover the mouse over the circle to get the person's name. The other two people, "PD" and "IL" don't have other team members with their initials, so they are displaying white as normal.
Note that Pie will cover up to six people in the same workspace with the same initials since Pie is working with six different colors. If there's a seventh person with the same initials, that person's icon will be normal white.
Secondly, this feature works at the workspace level, not at the organization level. So, it's possible that a team member will be auto assigned different colors in different workspaces when there are more than one person with the same initials in multiple workspaces. The reason we coded it at the workspace level is for performance reasons.
