The green, yellow, red project status feature is a great way to indicate if a project is ok, at risk, and in an issue state. The feature "project status" may also be referred as "executive status" or "executive project status".
Go to the Project List page where you see a list of projects and their pies. To the left of the project name is a green dot. Click this dot to see the popup as shown below. The projects are set to green "Ok" as the default setting.
How to change the project status and auto changes
- The project status changes automatically to red-issue when an issue is added to the project.
- The status changes automatically to risk-yellow when a risk is added.
- If a project has both an issue and a risk, the status changes to red.
- If project's issues and risks are all closed, then the status auto changes back to green.
- A project manager can manually change the status at any time overriding the auto changes. However, once a manual change is done, the auto changes are permanently turned off for that project.
Health Status indicator is reflecting on the Report Dashboard Table page
The above status indicator is also displayed in the Report section of Pie under Dashboard tab, Table subtab as shown below. This is an active object where you can click it to pop open its dialog box and update the status from here just like you can from the Project List page.
The status comments are displayed to the right in the same table under the Status Comments field. This is also an active object and clicking it will popup the field to show more comment date. You can also create a new comment from this location.
