You can set a slice to not needed or a process box to not needed so they won't be used and counted in the project reporting. This is like hiding a slice or hiding a box, but it's really visually hidden. It's deactivated and any data used for reporting is hidden from the reports.

How to market a slice as not needed
Only the project admin or the workspace admin permission person can set a slice to not needed or back to needed.
Here are the steps:

- If your slice has boxes, click on any box to show the task list.
- Click the more options kabob icon at the upper right of the task list to get the options popup.
- Click on the option "Mark entire slice as not needed".
- This will then place the slice in a not needed state.

- The project admin can still edit the slice's content if needed - To turn the slice back to needed, click the Undo button where it says the slice is in the not needed state, or go back to the more options list and reset it from the option there.
