Pie dependency features includes an automated workflow that will automatically send a team member an email when a waiting-on-predecessor task is ready to start.

For example, let's say Paul and Cate are team members on a project. Paul is assigned to Task 1 and Cate is assigned to Task 2. Let's also say that Task 2 is set up as a dependency with Task 1 as its predecessor. When Paul marks his Task 1 done, Pie will automatically send an email to Cate saying her Task 2 is ready to start.

The best part is when Cate opens her email, she will have an option to click one of two buttons in the email body. One is to mark her task as done without needing to go into the Pie app. The other is to automatically open up her Pie app and send her to the location of that task.
